Dine with spectacular views
The original library and drawing room of Taypark House is the perfect home for our impressive cafe and restaurant. Each room enjoys uninterrupted views across the botanical gardens and the beautiful, shimmering River Tay. We've sympathetically restored these two rooms to highlight their original features, whilst adding our own modern vintage twist - like the hanging teapot lamps dangling from the ornate plaster ceiling, or the cluster chandelier with pretty, patterned lampshades draped from the central rose. It really is an incredible setting for delicious dining.
Passionate About Great Food
Here at Taypark House, we're passionate about great food and believe in supporting our local suppliers, so we strive to use as much local produce as possible. All of our dishes, gourmet sandwiches and delicious home baking are made daily, fresh on site, by our experienced kitchen team, and we can even bake you your very own cake for any special occasions! On busy days we also use our original oak panelled billiard room - replete with vaulted ceiling - as an extension to the cafe. However, this can also be hired out for private dining or events for up to 40 people, making it perfect for christenings, birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations or intimate weddings.
Breakfast & Lunch
Join us for breakfast, where you’ll have the choice between a full plated breakfast, eggs benedict, french toast, and even pancakes, amongst many more options. Or why not pop in for lunch, with a variety of light bites, deli sandwiches, salads and burgers. We also serve some traditional favourites such as fish and chip and venison steak pie for the larger appetites (see below for a link to the full breakfast and lunch menus).
Dinner & Evening Dining
Our evening menu is served daily between 6pm and 9:30pm and includes mouth-watering starters such as: Shetland Mussels and Clams, Haddock Ceviche and Ayrshire Pork Belly; delicious main dishes that include: Wild Mushroom Risotto, Pan Seared Sea Bass and Slow Cooked Mediterranean Lamb Shank; and a selection of decadent desserts to finish off (see below for a link to the full evening menu).
Our rustic wood-kitchen is disguised in a converted shipping container with sedum roof, local burnt Scottish larch cladding and hanging planters and dug into the south facing slope of the original drying greens. Complete with a Jamie Oliver wood-fired pizza oven, coffee machine and fully stocked bar the wood-kitchen is the perfect place to host your own private party or dine with guests festival style the night before your big day! We also have a giant tepee’s in case the weather turns complete with fire pit, pretty hand-made bunting and festoon lighting.
We’ve got a delicious menu of beautiful, fresh-made afternoon tea - bubbly is of course optional (but highly recommended)! Tuck into our chef’s selection of filled Kaiser savoury rolls with locally sourced traditional fillings, as well as our famous fresh-baked scones with clotted cream and jam - then make your way round a mouth-watering selection of pastries and desserts.
