The Botanic Gardens are right on our doorstep, in fact you can even see the beautiful gardens from some of our bedrooms. The University of Dundee Botanic Gardens are a popular spot with locals and visitors to the area, so there is no surprise it’s one of our Top 10 Things To Do in Dundee.
Priding itself on educating people of all ages, the south facing gardens, on the banks of the River Tay is host to a wide range of plants, flowers and herbs to discover. It even has a tropical and temperature controlled glasshouse filled with imported plants from all over the world. They also host events and exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing some of Scotland's best produce.
If you work up an appetite, there is a wee coffee shop selling freshly baked cakes and sandwiches nestled in the middle of the gardens. On a sunny summers day you can sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. Don't forget to pick up a souvenir from the gift shop too.
The Botanic Gardens are just a short 10 minute walk from our front door and can be enjoyed all year round. Open daily from 10:00am.
